Opening replacing thermal paste fan CMOS battery DDR4 Ram SSD.

This video will show you how to Opening replacing thermal paste fan CMOS battery DDR4 Ram SSD on Intel NUC NUC8i3BE NUC8i5BE NUC8i7BE:

Phase 1: How to Open the NUC Chassis

   1. Power down: Turn off the NUC, unplug all cables, and remove the power adapter.
   2. Loosen base screws: Flip the unit upside down. Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to loosen the 4 screws built into the rubber feet. They are captive screws and will stay attached to the bottom plate.
   3. Lift the plate: Gently lift the metal bottom cover straight up.
   4. Remove hardware: For safety and clearance, pull out your RAM sticks by spreading the side clips, and unscrew/remove your M.2 SSD.

Phase 2: Removing the Motherboard The motherboard ports are tightly fitted into the chassis walls, requiring precise removal.

   1. Disconnect antennas: Carefully snap off the two tiny Wi-Fi antenna cables attached to the wireless card using a plastic tool.
   2. Remove internal screws: Locate and remove the 2 silver/black screws securing the motherboard to the case frame.
   3. Pry the board out: Push the flexible back wall of the outer case slightly outward while lifting the motherboard up by its front edge. The rear ports (HDMI, Ethernet) will slide out of their cutouts. Lift the board completely clear of the case.

Phase 3: Replacing the Thermal Interface Material Flip the motherboard over to expose the fan and heatsink assembly.

   1. Remove the fan: Unplug the tiny fan power cable from the motherboard. Remove the small screws holding the fan frame down, peel away any holding tape, and lift the fan away.
   2. Remove the heatsink: Loosen the spring-loaded screws securing the copper heatsink block to the CPU. Lift the heatsink off.
   3. Clean the surfaces: Use Q-tips dipped in Isopropyl alcohol to wipe away all dried, crusty original thermal paste from the mirror-like CPU die and copper heatsink block.
   4. Swap thermal pads: Peel the old, oily thermal pads off the secondary chips or voltage regulators. Cut your new thermal pad sheet to the exact same size, peel off its protective plastic film on both sides, and press it onto the designated chip components.
   5. Apply new paste: Place a small pea-sized drop or an "X" pattern of fresh thermal paste onto the center of the clean CPU die.

Phase 4: How to Close the Chassis

   1. Remount heatsink & fan: Lay the heatsink back onto the CPU. Tighten the cross-screws evenly in a diagonal pattern to spread the paste perfectly. Screw the fan back onto the motherboard frame and plug its cable into the board header.
   2. Reseat the motherboard: Tilt the motherboard and insert the front ports (Front USBs) into the back panel cutouts first. Push the front of the board down until it snaps flat into the chassis screw holes.
   3. Anchor the board: Reinstall the 2 internal motherboard screws. Re-clip the Wi-Fi antenna leads firmly back onto their wireless module gold terminals.
   4. Reinstall core components: Slide your M.2 SSD back into its slot and screw it down. Click your RAM modules back into their respective slots at an angle.
   5. Attach bottom cover: Align the bottom plate with the chassis (ensure the internal thermal pad line aligns with your SSD location). Tighten the 4 rubber-foot screws by hand using a screwdriver to finish closure.
